Retail Store Assistant Manager

Purpose of the Position:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing our retail store when the Manager is not present. The Assistant Manager will know the companies retail, human resources and safety practices. The Assistant Manager will follow Atwood's operations policies and procedures to maximize customer service, employees productivity and to achieve financial objectives.

Requirements
oHigh School Diploma or Equivalency Degree
oCurrent Drivers License
o2 Years Relevant Experience
oBe the leader in safety. Know all procedures outlined in the Atwood's Safety Manual.
oDevelop product knowledge and selling skills for quality customer care.
oPerforms all functions as directed by management or as necessary to achieve the stated goals and objectives of the company.
oTo participate in the store development and growth, reviewing all company memos, bulletins, meeting notes, and using available management tools to enhance store location operations.
oTo identify and delegate responsibilities to store employees, to operate the store to company standards, and to achieve financial goals. Daily store safety walks with employees are routine, as are daily work lists.
oTo assist Manager with interviews, hiring, training and evaluate employees to insure maximum productivity, customer care, and genuine friendliness. To participate in at least one annual appraisal of each store employee. Assist in discipline procedures when directed by manager.
oTo be responsible for HR & Safety functions at the store level. To include administration, forms, policy questions, training, investigations, and audits, for protection of company assets.
oTo provide input to the buying department concerning customer needs, new products, competition, and pricing.
oPhysically work the store floor and outside areas to include unloading trucks, stocking freight, and load outs when necessary.
oConducts/Participates in regular store meetings (at least monthly) to review promotions, policies and procedures, safety concerns, security measures, store performance, etcto insure effective communication and training throughout staff.
oExhibits a positive and cooperative attitude towards all employees and customers of Atwoods and to position responsibilities.
oTo understand and implement new policies and procedures in a timely manner.
oExercises sound business judgment in responding to and resolving day-to-day issues.
oHave specific responsibilities and controls part of the store.
oUnderstands all store functions and operations.
oThe Assistant Manager is a hands on working manager to include material movement and customer loading when necessary.
oCapable of passing Atwoods forklift certification.
oPerforms other duties as requested by Supervisor.
oBe aware of shrink issues and consciously be a part of loss prevention. Follow handbook procedure on Shoplifting and security.
oAbility to work outside in all weather conditions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
